If let’s say you own a Gucci bag, a Patek Phillipe watch or a Stetson hat, how will your perception be to the world? Expensive right? Even if you never bought the items, it won’t change the perception that you are wealthy.
Now, anyone born of Christ can be likened to that who is very wealthy, a stunning marvel to creation. Sadly, most Christians believe the contrary and thus limiting the Holy one of Israel.
This why in Ecclesiastes 10:7 KJV, Solomon says, “I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.”
He says, “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.โ Matthew 11:29-30
Most people think that once they are born again they have automatically won the lottery and everything flows freely. They forget that there is a ๐ฏ๐๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป to take on and a ๐๐ผ๐ธ๐ฒ to put on their neck. They forget that they are supposed to ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐ผ๐๐ their salvation.
Most Christians forget that they have to lose something to gain everything. And that’s why the scripture say to lose it to gain. Christ lost His life to gain yours. In the garden of Eden, man lost dominion and gained fear and Christ tells us to lose our fear to gain dominion.
In the spirit, you have to lose something to gain something. It is a transaction. The widow of Zarephath lost her last meal, Mary lost a priceless perfume, Elisha lost his rich life to follow a total stranger, the disciples lost their jobs to follow a man they knew not into the wilderness.
When people complain a lot, e.g. harsh economic times, it simply means that their haven’t conceived in their hearts that God is above the dollar. They actually gain from the complaints they make, they profit from the pity.
Most poor people love being poor because they profit from it. In fact, anyone who glorifies their harsh times to gain pity and recognition is not born of God. Someone joked, “Welcome to Kenya, where people boast of how much trouble they have undergone in life.”
I officially welcome you to a new life of joy, abundance, peace and happiness where people will say, “Welcome to Kenya where everyone is positive no matter anything. There is life there.” But you will see someone ask in the comments, “How will positivity put a meal on the table?” I will reiterate, “How will complaining give you an eternity of good and perfect gifts?”
Most people profit from being in the crowds of self-pity, always complaining how harsh life is and because as a man thinkeths so is he they become exactly that; stagnant in life and always complaining. Change that, invite the life of God, He says, in His presence is fullness of joy.
The life of God is not in deeds and works. It starts with a mindset. It starts with losing some things. Are you willing to lose the pity that comes from complaining? Are you willing to lose the profit and recognition that it is your education that gives you your salary? Are you willing to lose the insufficient to gain the eternal?
Do you know how to lose? Always rejoice. You have to lose the anger, the dying hope, you have to lose the trust in your salary, you have to lose the dependence of government or your parents etc. Teach yourself to rejoice. I find these two verses interesting.
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
Philippians 4:4 KJV
Ask yourself, why did he have to repeat these words? Didn’t you hear them the first time? Or did he know something deeper that the world will always try and make you not rejoice?
17 Though the fig tree does not bud
Habakkuk 3-17-19 NIV
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.
Do you realize that after rejoicing that’s where the Lord becomes your strength and makes your feet like that of a deer and enables you to sprout against all odds? But then again, are you willing to lose?
