Be Vulnerable Unto The Lord

Be Vulnerable Unto The Lord

Do you realize that you can lie all you want to anybody or anyone but not to God? It is sad that most children of God think they can lie to God. They not only think so but act so. This is because religion has taught them that the Lord hates and condemns them for their sin. The devil who loves amplifying unrighteousness makes them sink deep into self-pity, unworthiness and self-hate and they in turn harbor another spirit, one so hard to come out from.

The Bible says;

A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 18:24 NKJV

Most children of God know God only as a judge. They behold Him as a tyrant with a very big cane ready to hit them with infirmity should they do wrong. This is why every night before they sleep they tell the Lord, “Forgive me father for I have sinned, I will not repeat it again.” But they will repeat the wrong again and enter a cycle of wrongdoing and asking God for forgiveness every day before they sleep.

Somebody taught them that every night before they sleep, they should ask God for forgiveness lest the world ends while they sleep and miss heaven. This is the worst view of God anybody can ever have. Even the devil knows the Lord to be loving, patient and slow to anger but religion has painted God as a legalistic dictator who cares not about His child but is so much thrilled to punish Him.

Imagine your best friend or your brother and what they can do for you, you tell them everything right? You tell them when you are in pain, in debt, in joy, when you have landed your new job etc. Well, there is a friend who sticks closer than that version of a brother. He is God. He is always knocking asking, “Can I be your friend?”

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Revelation 3:20 NKJV

How do you welcome a friend? How did your best friend become your friend? First, there was trust! You trusted in them. You trusted that they can never let you down no matter what. You trusted that they can never expose you no matter what and you had faith that your friendship will last eternally. For all of these to happen, you had to be vulnerable to them as they were vulnerable to you. You prioritized them as they prioritized you

Do the same with the Lord, welcome Him. First, trust in Him. Trust that He is your Lord, savior and king. Trust that he knows you more than you know yourself and that He can never let you down no matter what. Seek to know Him, seek to have a personal relationship with Him. Most people only know the corporate version of God presented to them in their Churches.

Prioritize Him and He will surely prioritize you. He says it here:

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew 6:33 NKJV

Most of all be vulnerable to Him. Be very genuine. In Psalms 53, David says that He is not pleased with your going to church on Sundays, your offerings nor your tithes but a contrite heart He won’t refuse. He seeks to know you more than you know Him. He only comes close when you have shown intent. He says:

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

James 4:8 NKJV

So how do you become vulnerable with Him? Just speak to Him as you would to a friend. Tell Him things like, “Lord, I sincerely want to know you at a personal level, I want to interact with you and I want you to become my best friend. There are things that I am struggling with and I do not feel good about them. I want to stop. I know you love me more than anything. I don’t know much about you but I am willing to open myself unto you. I really do not know how to open myself unto you but I know you will show me how.”

People like Moses & Elijah were so close to Him that they didn’t hesitate to express themselves to Him. Moses, despite being the most humble man in the universe would get angry and Elijah, despite being very great and calling fire from heaven would tell God that he wants to die. Do you think it is a coincidence that the two appeared before Him at the transfiguration? David would with a broken and contrite heart call unto the Lord. That’s now what we present outmost vulnerability and it rises as incense unto the Lord.

People who are not vulnerable unto the Lord are what we call stiff-necked. They have what we call a hardened heart and the Lord cannot do much with them. Most of them argue a lot, they think they know everything and have a set of do’s and don’ts. They are always strict; they have caged God to moral law and habits and made him a dictatorial ruler.

Do you need things to start working in your life? Be vulnerable unto Him. It is okay to tell Him your biggest fears, desires, pain etc. And NOT in the way of ‘crying and making noise unto Him’. Do it as you would do to a friend.

ALL life is spiritual, nobody just rises. There are no physical means of rising to the top, one either gets to the top divinely or through the demonic. Your boss, the president, the union member, the rich man in your village etc either got those positions through the divine or the demonic.

Stop Merely Quoting Scriptures, Live Them

Most Children of God merely quote scriptures when they face difficult times. They have made their bibles, places of worship and men of God golden calves in their lives. They want to be understood and words of encouragement through scripture to help them go through their hard times.
