Behold This Image

Behold This Image

To behold simply means, to look at, to gaze upon or to observe. Many people are what they behold. As a young child, you were taught to behold things. You were taught things like, “Look at your father/mother/uncle etc. and be like them or look at those who are ‘on top’ and strive to be like them.”

You were taught to behold the things of the world. You were taught that money is something that you should behold because it is everything. This explains why so many today are chasing after it. Christ comes and tells us to behold other things that are totally different from what most men were taught. For example, He says;

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew 6:33 NKJV

To many people, this is so conflicting because all they have lived to know are phrases like, ‘Education is the key to success’ and ‘Hard work pays’. Because they have strongly beheld the image of these phrases, these entities rule over them and they have become slaves. Christ again comes and says;

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Matthew 6:25 NKJV

Again, this is so conflicting to a person who is fully ingrained in the ‘hard work’ and ‘education is the key’ mentality. That’s when they disassociate themselves with Jesus who apparently is their savior and say, “But that was Jesus, He was God, I am not.”

When most Christians realize that they cannot achieve spiritual things, they stamp it as fake and those that speak the words of life are regarded as cultic. They will have all sorts of phrases to support their cause.

They will say, things like ‘Times have changed’, ‘Those people were more spiritual and closer to God’, or ‘I am not Jesus!’ Ironically, when trouble come, they will claim that they are a child of God and are sitted with Him in the heavenly places.

To them, Jesus is a spare tire, a backup plan and a rubberstamp to officiate their already made plans. Jesus is a warrior reserved for the harsh times and not for the good times. This is because they have beheld another image which is not Him and when that image fades away, they in panic try to behold the image of Jesus.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV

When you embark on the walk with Christ, you start beholding His image. You cease to be you. Your job ceases to be yours but His, your health ceases to be yours but His, your house, car, land and every other possession you have ceases to be yours but His. And that’s when you and everything you own starts getting transformed into a Godly image no matter how you acquired it.

That body of yours, because it has been transformed to His now stops falling sick, those finances because they are now His, stop fluctuating and start increasing simply because you started by beholding and fixing your gaze onto Him.

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2 NKJV

It is until you fix your eyes unto Him that’s when He starts authoring your faith. So why faith? Because you need faith to live this world, not education, not hard work. You need faith to believe that which you don’t see. He authors it (that faith) and finishes it.

The verse continues to say that joy was set before Him and that’s why He endured the cross. Jesus is the ultimate definition of faith. There is also joy set before you; the joy of wellness, the joy of finances, the joy of a happy marriage etc. but sadly you are clouded by what you have currently beheld.

This is why the Bible says that you look or fix your eyes unto Him so that He can reveal unto you the joy set before your life. This joy will help you endure some small troubles for just a bit. And do you know what the result of that is?

The verse above finished by saying, ‘He has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.’ It is until he sat down with the father that we are able to sit together with Him.

and (God) raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

Ephesians 2:6 NKJV

From today, start beholding this image. This image of Christ. This image that knows no lack, no trouble, no sickness, no illness, no tribulation etc. Start simple by saying and acknowledging that “It is done!” That, “He came to give me life and life in abundance.” Live those scriptures despite what unfolds in your life. No matter how hard it seems or feels like.

Words are not just read, they are lived and this is why I so much hope that you weren’t merely uplifted by this article. I am not really intrigued when people tell me that my article was powerful and full of revelation. I am not thrilled by writing good Godly articles.

I am extremely moved when what I write changes lives. I am in bliss when someone tells me, “Hey, I read your piece, I lived those words and my life changed.”

So, will you be the person that puts these words into practice? Strive to not merely get encouraged by these articles and the Bible as well but be a living epistle. Make the words of life your lifestyle. This week, behold the image of Christ every single day. You are blessed.

ALL life is spiritual, nobody just rises. There are no physical means of rising to the top, one either gets to the top divinely or through the demonic. Your boss, the president, the union member, the rich man in your village etc either got those positions through the divine or the demonic.

Stop Merely Quoting Scriptures, Live Them

Stop Merely Quoting Scriptures, Live Them

Most Children of God merely quote scriptures when they face difficult times. They have made their bibles, places of worship and men of God golden calves in their lives. They want to be understood and words of encouragement through scripture to help them go through their hard times.
