Can you imagine there is a place you can go and get taught about God? You can actually go to school and get a certification of how much you know God and how you can teach His word. You can actually advance your knowledge from a mere certificate, to holding a bachelor’s degree, to a masters degree and actually reaching the epitome of a doctorate on how to run the affairs of God?
It is sad that man thinks he can teach about God through research and dissertation. God has been reduced to some piece of knowledge and experiences written down and passed down by people who thought that they were able to decipher and imagine Him in their heads.
After getting to school to read about God, you can actually get a job as a pastor. You may start by interning in some Church where you will learn how to handle God. Later, after gaining experience, you can search for jobs locally or online and if you meet the qualifications, you can actually get a job to lead a flock based on your papers and experience.
I actually Googled some pastors job descriptions and they were pretty hilarious. Some were;
i) A man who meets the qualifications of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9)
ii) Uncompromised word of God, loves Jesus, and grace focused.
iii) Believe in the power of prayer
iv) Preach (topical & expository) with effective communication
v) Vision Caster
vi) Protecting the church from heresy
vii) Training for spiritual maturity etc.
How can one know someone who meets the qualifications of an elder? I wonder how pastoral interviews are done. Do they ask, “What does Nahum 2:3 say?” Or, “How many times do you pray in a day?” Or, “How will you protect the Church from heresy?” Here are some screenshots of some job openings of a pastor.
Have you ever noticed that there is no school that teaches prophecy? Have you ever noticed that there is no school that teaches miracles like healing? Do you know that there is no school that teaches the job qualifications listed above? Which school teaches pastors to be vision casters or to be elders?
Now, let’s dissect where Theology really came from. The first time we see a teaching in the Bible is when Judah went into captive and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon asked his servant to find men from Judah who could be taught into the ways of the Babylonians.
Daniel 1:3-4
3 Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, 4 young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans.
Let us first see what mandate Judah had.
Genesis 49:10 says
The scepter shall not depart from Judah,
nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet,
until tribute comes to him;
and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.
Judah (the son of Jacob) was crowned with the leadership mantle. Jacob, when blessing Judah said that the scepter shall not depart from him meaning that the tribe of Judah are naturally born rulers and they will always carry the rulership mantle e.g. David, Isaiah, Jesus etc.
It was when the southern kingdom, Judah went into captivity that the Babylonians, who were crazily spiritual planned to end the natural rulership of the tribe of Judah by introducing them to the ways of the Chaldeans. They wanted to blind their awakened selves by introducing them to studies that seemed interesting and enlightening. (Simply Theology).
And Nebuchadnezzar, did not just want mere men, he specified that he wanted some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles – the crème de la crème, powerful leaders, heirs to the kingdom. And that’s exactly what Theology does. It takes the most powerful naturally born leaders and reduce them to mere motivational speakers.
While the world marvels about powerful Eastern religion of Chi energy, incredible Yoga, palm reading, astrology and the discovery of new spiritual herbs, the Church is busy giving words of comfort and motivation thanks to Theology. They claim all that is of the devil but will preach of the sons of Issachar.
Bewildering Eastern religion is not taught in school. It is imparted. It is not just reduced into a curriculum but it is a way of life, the core of life itself. To date they are still delving deeper into it to squeeze more of its juice and discovering more about it.
On the other hand, Theology is only taught in classrooms and really limiting the working of the Spirit of God. The teachings are later transferred to the four walls of the Church where congregants are taught to avoid sin at all costs, to read the bible extensively, to pray vehemently and fast hard to get closer to the Lord.
Theology comes from the darkest pits of hell. Nebuchadnezzar knew that by teaching these young chaps Theology, he would have killed the future of the Israelites. Governments are ran by the Babylonian system and for the longest time, they have wanted to control the Church by requiring leaders to get Theological degrees and practicing licenses.
Nebuchadnezzar wanted to make the young men do his bidding by teaching them his ways and giving them royal food and niceties. He tried to change their names but the young men refused to be defiled by his Theology.
I have seen many bold and powerful men with the ability to heal, to plant men into powerful positions and who do wonders in the spirit. Mere men would then advise them to go and do Theology because they will get better and licensed.
Sadly, they only come out with crazy dogmas constrained by weird human-taught mentalities of how the spirit of God should work in them. In short, they come out with the spirit of religion in them.
When Jesus was calling his disciples, he never went for the elite in society. He never went to the synagogues nor to the teachers of law. There is a reason he went for ‘mere’ fishermen, regulars who never stepped in any classroom. He went for men who only knew how to fish and were not contaminated into worldly knowledge that camouflaged into the wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians 8:1 says
Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. But the man who loves God is known by God.
Nebuchadnezzar wanted to puff up knowledge in the minds of these young men. He wanted them to be marveled by the immense knowledge he taught them. The same happens in Theological studies. It is sad that most people who have done Theology are puffed up in pride because they know they know the Bible cover to cover. The fact that they can recite most Bible verses and are eloquent in speech makes them think that they are closer to God.
Paul the Apostle never attended any classroom, the prophets of old were not learned. They were never in any formal education. Someone would ask, ‘Where will pastors come from?’ The answer is simple, if you bore a son, how will you make him a man of valor like you?
Elijah, the Tishbite put a mantle (a piece of his clothing) on Elisha and immediately an impartation happened. Elisha then spent years serving and following the man of God and he asked for a double portion. He then saw his spiritual father being carried to heaven and the same piece of clothing (the mantle) was handed over unto him.
It is sad that today, men who are called to serve under men of God think they know more that the man of God himself. Most get bored by the man of God and leave the Church to join another one. The Church is no less than a workplace and pastors are employees who hop for the most favorable conditions.
Some, called to serve the men of God go to Theology schools and come back all puffed up with knowledge and pride. Theology teaches rules and laws of how to relate with God but the word of God teaches them that they are not under the law. Theology simply cages the Spirit of God and limits his working on men.
Another would ask, “How then can I start a Church without Theology?” Well, despite being in captivity, learning the ways of the Chaldeans and having their names changed, the young men from the tribe of Judah never forgot their identity. The Bible tells you to be as shrewd as a serpent. The government needs papers and licenses. Learn how to navigate the Babylonian system.
Some also argue that there are many rogue pastors and prophets in the world who have not gone to school. A good example is what has been hitting the headlines recently where it is alleged that hundreds have starved to death in the Shakahola Cult.
My question is, “Do you think Theology can change the heart of a man?” How many ‘learned’ church leaders have done worse? The saddest thing is that Christians are the first to criticize. They are the first to condemn, to distance themselves painting themselves as Holier than thou and to help the devil in his agenda on the regulation of the church.
Al-Shabaab & Al-Qaeda have been there for years killing masses but Christians don’t sharply condemn them and asking for the regulation of the Muslim faith. You will hear the same Christians happily narrating the Napoleon’s story on the persecution of Christians.
Sadly, Christians condemn each other, kill each other and are quick to point out ills of their own warriors. Christianity is the only religion that kills its warriors. I am not in any way advocating for the Shakahola Massacre or ills in the Christian faith but let me just give you a challenge; go Google any popular man of God and see what blogs condemn them.
Theology is not recognized in heaven. The workings of God in man are very different from what is taught through books. God is not found in books. He is not found by merely reading the Bible. This is why most religious sects are formed from different interpretations of the Bible.
God works in other men. This is why Jesus had to come in as a man. This is why Jesus also needed the favor of men as well. In heaven there is no democracy. Some men are important, powerful and high ranking than others. It is from these men that we get the revelation of God from. It is from these men that we get spiritual secrets and mysteries from. We grow from these men.
It is sad that in Theology, they teach that you do not necessarily need men but God. It is sad that they disapprove spiritual lineages but the Bible teaches about spiritual fatherhood. The Babylonian system has made men worship the four walls on the Church. They have made men worship the building and not he who was sent to them.
This is why children of God in need for dominion go to witches and dark healers who have no education at all but have the ‘power’ to place them wherever they want. Witches do not attend Theology classes but children of God who are supposed to usurp dominion from them have been blinded that God is impressed with morals and knowledge of the scripture.
Which scripture did Moses read? What about Isaiah, which Bible was he reading? God is awaiting His children to write scripture but they are stuck to a false God who said and cannot say again. Their God is dead. He is stored in the books of only those who experienced Him in the past. Theology makes them that they can not experience Him today. It teaches them that they can only experience him through doctrines.
People now worship the structure. The narrative changed from, “Who is your spiritual father” to “Where do you go to Church?” Which Church did Jesus go to? What was the name of His ministry? What performed miracles? Was it Jesus or the Church? Why do we say God of Abraham, Meshack and Abednego?
Eli had a higher rank than Samuel and that’s why he became his spiritual father. The widow at Zarephath, a complete Gentile, was able to know that Elijah was a high-ranking man of God in the spirit and she gave him all she had. She risked her life and that of her child. But you cannot tell this to a man who attended Theological classes.
A Theologian would think that this is insensible and it will only need clear and concise instructions from God. But they do not know how to receive clear and concise instructions from God as their God is limited to books and that’s why the story of Abraham sacrificing his only son, Elijah killing false prophets and the like become fairy tales.
Try telling a Theologian that there are people who visit heaven today; that there are people who sit in the very council of God and they will ask you, “Where is it written?” Theologians rely so much on logos (the written word) that they forget God can speak outside the 66 books of the Bible.
Theologians study God in the past history books and that he stopped working in the present. They paint Him as an old man who comforts in the present and that’s why they can no longer tell a man, “Take your mat and walk.”
Dear men of God who are thinking of delving into Theology. Carefully examine and cross-check your hearts. Seek God with all your heart. Theology will not give you the power you need. It will destroy it. You can only get that power through impartation from a man who has it.
There is a reason why we listen to practical business men with real businesses and not people who scored As in school and are trying out in business. Find men of God who have what you desire. If you are in the healing ministry, find men of God who heal and seek for impartation of the gift.
Theology will not give you the power to heal. It will give you theories like, ‘God heals but doctors treat.’ It will show you that God is completely powerless and He doesn’t heal today. He heals through doctors. (P.S. I am in no way advocating that people should not go to hospitals. There is a grace for hospitals and there is a higher grace of healing)
The Christian journey is experiential and not theoretical. Learn to serve. Learn humility and never let knowledge puff up in you. Remember that the more you know, the more you do not know. Do not engage in mere arguments about how much you know. Fully depend on the Lord and strive to have your eyes opened unto what is from Him.
